President’s Message April 2018

April is Pima County Fair Month!! The fair starts on April 19 and runs through April 29. Pima GOP has a booth set up to register voters and inform voters of our candidates that are running for office at the state and federal levels. Pima County Republican Women are going to be volunteering at the booth on April 23. If you would like to help, contact me at Susanksmith3443@gmail.com or 520-275-3443. We are sharing the booth with the Kelli Ward campaign that day so space is limited.

Our March luncheon at The Hungry Fox was very informative and successful. We got to enjoy hot turkey sandwiches while listening to a couple of the candidates for CD 3 Representative to replace Raul Grijalva. Sergio Arrellano and Nick Pierson told us why they thought they would be to best choice for this important election. We are sorry that Edna San Miguel was not able to attend. It is important to hear from all of the candidates.

Speaking of hearing from all of the candidates, we have invited LD14 Arizona Senate candidates to our April dinner meeting on the 26th. The 3 candidates that have been invited are: David Gowan, Drew John and Lori Kilpatrick. We will be having dinner on the patio of El Saguarito Mexican Restaurant at 1763 E Prince Rd. We will have a wonderful Mexican food buffet for $25. Hope to see many of you there. Please RSVP to j Demara, 520-896-1809 or jelaw4@gmail.com. Sign-in starts at 5:30 with dinner and meeting at 6. It will be an exciting meeting.

For all of you, it is time to become an elected Precinct Committeeman. The process is simple so I hope everyone will become a PC. You need to gather 10 signatures from Republicans, Independents or party not determined on a petition sheet, fill out an affidavit and get it notarized. Affidavits and petitions are available at Pima GOP Headquarters and Michelle can notarize it for you. They are due to your LD chairman or to headquarters before May 30 so they can be turned into the elections office.

See you soon,
Susan
